Full casting has been announced for the West End return of THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME.
Joshua Jenkins will take on the lead role of Christopher Boone. The role marks Jenkins’ West End debut after playing the part on the UK and international tour. Jenkins will be joined by Julie Hale as Siobhan, Stuart Laing as Ed, Emma Beattie as Judy, Sean McKenzie as Reverend Peters, Eliza Collings as Mrs Shears, Lucas Hare as Mr Shears, Gemma Knight Jones as Punk Girl, Lynette Clarke as Mrs Alexander and Craig Stein as Mr Thompson.
Christopher will be played at certain performances by Sam Newton. Understudies for the West End return are Kieran Garland, Emma-Jane Goodwin, Rose Riley and Joe Rising.
The play is based on Mark Haddon’s 2003 bestselling novel. The play premiered at the National Theatre back in 2012 adapted by Simon Stephens (SEA WALL, HEISENBERG) and directed by Marianne Elliot (COMPANY, WAR HORSE and the upcoming DEATH OF A SALESMAN at the Young Vic). The play transferred to the West End the following year followed by a Broadway production in 2015. The Piccadilly Theatre production returns following it’s closure at the Gielgud in Summer 2017.
CURIOUS INCIDENT follows Christopher Boone, a boy who sets out to discover the mystery of who killed his neighbours dog.
The production features design from Bunny Christie, lighting from Paule Constable and video by Finn Ross. Movement is by Scott Graham and Steve Graham for Frantic Assembly with music by Adrian Sutton and sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph.
THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME plays at the Piccadilly Theatre until April 2019.
