Full casting has been announced for the UK tour of THE BODYGUARD, kicking off in Glasgow next month.
Joining the previously announce Burke as Rachel Marron will be Benoît Maréchal as Frank Farmer, Micha Richardson as Nicki Marron, Peter Landi as Bill Devaney, Craig Berry as Tony, Gary Turner as Sy Spector, Phil Atkinson as The Stalker and Simon Cotton as Ray Court. At some performances, the role of Rachel Marron will be played by Carole Stennett.
The rest of the company for the musical includes: Rosie Cava-Beale, Callum Clack, Myles Cork, Kerry Crozier, Sia Dauda, Gustav Die, Chris Edgerley, James Lee Harris, Holly Liburd, Jack Loy, Hannah Millichamp, Helen Parsons, Daniil Shmidt, Jessica Simmons, Yiota Theo and Michael Wade Peters.
THE BODYGUARD is based on the 1992 film of the same name starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. The plot follows a former secret service agent hired to protect singer Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. The musical premiered at the Adelphi Theatre in 2012 and went on to be nominated for four Olivier Awards. The show includes Whitney Houston classics such as ‘I Have Nothing’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’.
This tour marks the third time formed X Factor winner Burke will play the role. She previously did a stint in the West End back in 2014 before reprising her role in the UK tour the following year. She can currently be see in London’s West End playing Roxie Hart in CHICAGO.
The new UK tour is scheduled to kick off at Glasgow Theatre Royal 3rd December. It will then visit Hull, Southend, Liverpool, Milton Keynes, Bristol, Cardiff, Norwich, Canterbury, Southampton, Nottingham and Wolverhampton.
