The UK tour of iconic movie turned stage show, RAIN MAN, has extended into 2019 with two new leading cast members.
Paul Nicholls and Chris Fountain take over the roles of brothers, Raymond and Charlie Babbit (originally played by Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman in the film). The duo replace current leads Matthew Horne and Ed Speelers in the production.
Based on the iconic movie, RAIN MAN follows Charlie Babbit, who on learning of his father’s death, discovers his autistic older brother Raymond has inherited the family’s $3 million fortune. Dan Gordon’s stage adaptation opened back in August and has been touring since.
RAIN MAN is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle and features design by Morgan Large, lighting by Jack Weir and sound by Dan Sansom. The play marks the first production in Bill Kenwright’s new Classic Screen to Stage Company.
RAIN MAN opens on 14th January at Theatre Royal Bath. The tour will then continue to Woking, Barnstaple, Malvern, Crawley, Darlington, Clwyd, Southampton, Manchester, High Wycombe, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle and Weston-Super-Mare.
