In Photos: Simon Russell Beale Rehearses THE TRAGEDY OF KING RICHARD THE SECOND at the Almeida

Rehearsal photos have been released for Shakespeare’s THE TRAGEDY OF KING RICHARD THE SECOND, opening at London’s Almeida Theatre next month.

Starring stage-legend Simon Russell Beale as the titular king, Joe Hill-Gibbins’ production of the Shakespeare history play tells the story of Richard II, a monarch usurped and cast off the throne.

Joining Russell Beale in the play is Leo Bill, Martins Imhangbe, Natalie Klamar, John Mackay), Joseph Mydell, Saskia Reeves and Robin Weaver.

The revival will feature design by Ultz, lighting by James Farncombe, sound by Peter Rice, dramaturgy by Jeff James, casting by Ginny Schiller and resident direction by Lucy Wray.

THE TRAGEDY OF KING RICHARD THE SECOND runs at Islington’s Almeida Theatre from 10th December to 2nd February.
