London’s Donmar Warehouse have announced full casting for their upcoming play BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO.
Joining the previously announced Tom Brooke, Enzo Cilenti and Tom Espiner are: Eugenia Caruso, Sidney Kean, Loré Lixenberg, Luke Pasqualino, Lara Rossi, Beatrice Scirocchi and Hemi Yeroham.
Based on Peter Strickland’s acclaimed subliminal horror movie, BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO is brought to the stage in a new version adapted by Joel Horwood. It will be directed by Tom Scutt, a long time theatre designer in the UK and first time director. The stage version was conceived by the pair.
Set at the height of giallo horror, BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO follows Gilderoy, a sound designer for a Dorking-based nature documentary team. In 1970s Italy, Gilderoy swaps his Surrey garden shed for the glamour of giallo, where cabbages become corpses, your own voice can be over-dubbed and silence speaks louder than screams.
BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO is directed by Tom Scutt, with design by Anna Yates and Tom Scutt, Lighting by Lee Curran, Sound and Composition by Ben and Max Ringham, Movement by Sasha Milavic Davies and Foley Design by Tom Espiner.
BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO opens at the Donmar Warehouse on 8th February and is booking to 30th March. Tickets are on sale now.
