Jill Green Casting announced that they are looking for individuals to play the roles of Evan Hansen, Connor Murphy, Zoe Murphy, Jared Kleinman and Alana Beck for the shows West End run at the Noël Coward Theatre in Autumn 2019.

The auditions, which will be held at London’s Pineapple Studios on 4th February and Manchester’s Dancehouse on 18th February, ask auditionees to bring 16 bars of sheet music and a CV which includes a photo. The call out stresses that there is no need to register beforehand and that individuals can turn up on the day.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN opens at London’s Noël Coward Theatre from November 2019. The musical, which features a book by Stephen Levenson, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and direction by Michael Grief, originally premiered in Washington in 2015 before transferring to Broadway the following year. The musical follows Evan Hansen, a high school student who suffers with social anxiety. Evan fabricates a series of letters and messages from a deceased member of his class to make a connection with his peers and to become closer to the boy’s family.

The musical has been a massive success since its arrival on Broadway, where it won six Tony Awards in 2017 including Best Musical. The show has amassed a cult online following and continues to play to sell out houses in New York. A novelisation of the musical was recently released and a film adaptation is currently in development. DEAR EVAN HANSEN also made a huge star out of its original lead Ben Platt, who’s now working in TV and film this year.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN opens at London’s Noël Coward Theatre from November 2019. Further details, including dates, casting and ticket information, are still to be announced.
