Jack McBrayer Joins West End Cast of WAITRESS

It’s been announced that Jack McBrayer will join the UK cast of Broadway import WAITRESS when it has its West End premiere in February.

American actor McBrayer, best known for his role in hit US sitcom 30 Rock, makes his London premiere in the show in the role of Ogie. Additionally, McBrayer is known for his characters on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and his voice role in the Disney franchise Wreck-it Ralph.

McBrayer joins the previously announced Katharine McPhee as Jenna alongside David Hunter, Marisha Wallace, Laura Baldwin and Peter Hannah in principal roles. Full casting for the production is still to be announced.

The Broadway hit, written by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson, has its West End premiere at the Adelphi Theatre from 8th February. WAITRESS, which is still currently running on Broadway, is based on the 2007 film of the same name that starred Keri Russell. It follows Jenna, a woman in a small American town with a talent for baking pies with plans to compete in a contest. These plans are hindered when she unexpectedly discovers she’s pregnant.

WAITRESS opened on Broadway Brooks Atkinson Theatre in March 2016 following a tryout in Boston. Directed by Diane Paulus and starring Jessie Mueller, the piece went on to be nominated for four Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score. The same production transfers to the Adelphi early next year.

WAITRESS runs at London’s Adelphi Theatre from 8th February and is currently booking until 25th May. Tickets are on sale now.
