Casting has been announced for the world premiere of Jack Thorne’s new play THE END OF HISTORY… at the Royal Court.
David Morrisey and Lesley Sharp will lead the piece as husband and wife David and Sal. Morrisey’s previous stage credits include JULIUS CAESAR at the Bridge and HANGMEN at the Royal Court and Wyndham’s Theatre. Morrisey’s screen credits include The Walking Dead and Brittania. Sharp’s stage credits include THE WOODS at Royal Court and A TASTE OF HONEY at the National Theatre. Sharp’s is best known to audiences onscreen as Janet Scott in ITV’s Scott and Bailey, and for her supporting role in The Full Monty.
Morrisey and Sharp are joined in the cast by Zoe Boyle, Laurie Davidson, Kate O’Flynn and Sam Swainsbury.
THE END OF HISTORY… is a family drama set across three decades from 1997 to 2017. The piece is written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany, reuniting the pair for the first time since their acclaimed collaboration on HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD. Thorne’s other credits include A CHRISTMAS CAROL and WOYZECK at the Old Vic and LET THE RIGHT ONE IN at the Royal Court and West End. Tiffany’s previous credits include ONCE and THE GLASS MENAGERIE, both on Broadway and in the West End.
The production additionally features design by Grace Smart, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Tom Gibbons.
THE END OF HISTORY… runs in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at the Royal Court from 27th June to 10th August. Tickets are on sale now.
