It’s been announced that London theatre royalty Bonnie Langford will join the cast of Dolly Parton’s 9 TO 5, opening at London’s Savoy Theatre this January.
Langford, who is currently starring in 42ND STREET at Drury Lane, joins the previously announced Louise Redknapp, Natalie McQueen, Brian Conley and Amber Davies in the lead roles. Joining them in the musical is: Victoria Anderson, Alexander Bartles, Ashford Campbell, Simon Campbell, Rhiane Drummond, Demmileigh Foster, Llandyll Gove, Lucinda Lawrence, Jenny Legg, Christopher Jordan Marshall, Natasha Mould, Sean Needham, Jon Reynolds, James Royden-Lyley, Giles Surridge, Sasha Wareham and Emily Woodford.
Directed by Jeff Calhoun, 9 TO 5 is based on the 1980 movie that starred Dolly Parton herself. The musical premiered in Los Angeles in 2008 before transferring to Broadway the following year. Although it received a record breaking 15 Drama Desk Award nominations that year, its Broadway run was short lived. 9 TO 5 made its way over the pond on a UK tour that took place in 2012. Jeff Calhoun’s touring production will be recreated at the Savoy in 2019.
9 TO 5 features music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick. The Savoy production features direction by Jeff Calhoun, choreography by Lisa Stevens, design by Tom Rogers, lighting by Howard Hudson, musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Mark Crossland, musical direction by Andrew Hilton and casting by Victoria Roe.
9 TO 5 previews at the Savoy Theatre from 28th January and runs for a limited season to 31st August. Tickets are on sale now.
