Full casting has been announced for the upcoming West End production of WAITRESS, opening at the Adelphi Theatre in February.
Joining the cast will be Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe alongside Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Nicole Raquel Dennis, Nathaniel Morrison, Leanne Pinder, Michael Hamway, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Sarah O’Connor and Charlotte Riby.
They join the previously announced Katharine McPhee as Jenna, David Hunter as Dr Pomatter, Marisha Wallace as Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Peter Hannah as Earl and Jack McBrayer as Ogie.
The Broadway hit, written by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson, has its West End premiere at the Adelphi Theatre from 8th February. WAITRESS, which is still currently running on Broadway, is based on the 2007 film of the same name that starred Keri Russell. It follows Jenna, a woman in a small American town with a talent for baking pies with plans to compete in a contest. These plans are hindered when she unexpectedly discovers she’s pregnant.
WAITRESS opened on Broadway Brooks Atkinson Theatre in March 2016 following a tryout in Boston. Directed by Diane Paulus and starring Jessie Mueller, the piece went on to be nominated for four Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score. The same production transfers to the Adelphi early next year.
WAITRESS runs at London’s Adelphi Theatre from 8th February and is currently booking until 25th May. Tickets are on sale now.
