Get a first look at Stephen Tompkinson and the cast of The Old Vic’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL in rehearsals. The play returns to venue with previews beginning later this month.
Following a critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic last year, Jack Thorne’s new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL returns to the Waterloo venue for another festive season. Starring in the production as Ebenezer Scrooge is Stephen Tompkinson, whose recent theatre credits includes the UK tour of ART, and the West End production of SPAMALOT. Tompkinson takesover screen and stage star Rhys Ifans, who played the role in last year’s premiere.
Tompkinson is joined in the cast by Alastair Parker, Ava Brennan, Eugene McCoy, Frances McNamee, Jamie Cameron, Michael Rouse, Myra McFadyen, Oliver Evans, Peter Caulfield, Rosanna Bates, Tim van Eyken and Witney White. The role of Tiny Tim will be shared by Leo Lake, Lara Mehmet, Luka Petrovic and Lenny Rush.
The play features direction by GROUNDHOG DAY and MATILDA’S Matthew Warchus, with design by Rob Howell, music by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and movement by Lizzi Gee.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL runs at The Old Vic from 24th November to 19th January.
