Full Casting Announced for WEST SIDE STORY at the Royal Exchange

Full casting has been announced for the new revival of  WEST SIDE STORY, opening at the Royal Exchange in Manchester this April.

Joining the previously announced Andy Coxon and Gabriela Garcia as Tony and Maria will be Jocasta Almgill as Anita, Fernando Mariano as Bernado, Manuel Pacific as Chino, Michael Duke as Riff, Tom Hodgkins as Doc / Krupke, Emily Langham as Anybodys and Jack Lord as Schrank / Glad Hands.

The Sharks will be played by Jordan Cunningham, Frances Dee, Natalia Chua, Pol Galcera and Bree Smith, while the Jets will be played by Oliver Tester, Christopher Tendai, Lukin Simmonds, Ericka Posadas, Michael Lin, Justin Lee Jones, Sebastian Goffin and Hannah Cadec.

Beginning 6th April, the new revival production of WEST SIDE STORY premieres at the venue. Directed by artistic director Sarah Frankcom, with all new choreography by Aletta Collins, this marks the first time a UK production will not feature Jerome Robbins’ original choreography. The production will feature new orchestrations from Tony nominee Jason Carr, with design by Anna Fleischle and lighting by Lee Curran.

Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents and Stephen Sondheim’s musical premiered on Broadway back in 1957, originally conceived, directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins. The score features musical theatre classics such as ‘America’, ‘Maria’ and ‘Tonight’. WEST SIDE STORY runs at the venue until 25th May.
